How we quote

Straight pricing

Flat rate, agreed in writing, before a tool leaves the truck. Nobody benefits from a slow afternoon and nothing appears on the invoice you did not approve.

Hourly billing puts you and your technician on opposite sides. The longer it takes, the more it costs, and you have no way of judging whether the pace is honest. Flat rate removes that entirely: the number is agreed before work starts, and if the job runs long that is our problem rather than yours.

There is no after-hours surcharge either. A blocked main at 1am on a holiday costs what it costs at 1pm on a Wednesday. Charging people extra for having an emergency at an inconvenient hour has always struck us as a poor way to treat somebody having a bad night.

How a quote works

  • We diagnose before we price anything
  • You get a flat rate in writing for the specific work
  • Nothing starts until you have agreed to it
  • If you decline, there is no charge for the visit
  • If we find something genuinely different, we stop and requote

What never changes the number

  • The time of day, night, weekend or holiday
  • How long the job actually takes
  • How many machines it took to open the line
  • Whether the technician was there ten minutes or three hours

Why we do not publish a price list

Because a number posted without seeing your line is a number that will change, and a bait price that rises on arrival is worse than no price at all. We would rather quote your actual job accurately and let you compare it against anyone else's.

Questions about straight pricing

Is there a charge to come out and quote?

We diagnose, quote a flat rate, and if you decide not to proceed there is no charge for that visit. We would rather you compared quotes and came back than felt cornered into agreeing on the spot.

Can the price change once work has started?

Only if we open the line and find a genuinely different problem underneath, and in that case we stop and requote before continuing. What does not happen is the number quietly growing and appearing on the invoice.
